"Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens! Praise Him for His mighty deeds; praise Him according to His excellent greatness! Praise Him with trumpet sound; praise Him with lute and harp! Praise Him with tambourine and dance; praise Him with strings and pipe! Praise Him with sounding cymbals; praise Him with loud clashing cymbals!" Psalm 150: 1-6
When your child joins the band at Shepherd of the Hills he or she will get a chance to do that - praise God with the sounds of instruments!
Students in grades five through eight have the opportunity to be a part of the Beginner Band or the Advanced Band. If your child has not played a band instrument before, then he or she will be placed in the Beginner Band. Fifth grade students will be considered beginners throughout the fifth grade year. Sixth through eighth grade beginners who excel with their instruments may have the opportunity to move to the Advanced Band for the second semester of their beginner year.
